Why I Love Her
A few people have asked me, "why do you like Luka so much?" and I guess to the average passerby in the Vocaloid fandom she doesn't look all that special when put up next to all the other disctinctive Cryptionloids and currently trending v-synths. Her merch is sparse and sometimes hard to find. Her voice is mostly tuned a lot more sultry and moody compared to most v-synths. And she's mature! She's not super moe, always smiling, typical female vocal-synth (Meiko isn't either, but she gets even less love from the community, it's really sad!). But that's why I love her. I will always love the cryptonloids, but ever since I was first introduced to Luka in middle school, when I began my first forays into the fandom, she has held a special place in my heart. I love her pink hair, and her long, flowing dress. I think both her V1 and V4X designs capture her mature, elegant, instrument inspired essense perfectly!!! I love Miku, but it's really refreshing to see an female anime character in an outfit that doesn't borderline look like a school uniform. The blue of her eyes and the gold accents of her outfit really tie in so well (the brown in V4X is even better than black imo). Her can be hard to find, but that just means that you have to love her more before you invest in something. It also means more thought is put into her merch, as she doesn't have as many random prize figures coming out like Miku and has a lot more widely-appealing scale figures. And finally, her voice is just incredible!!!! It's so disctinctive, and it's very special as an international fan to have her be the first bilingual voice bank. Her songs are very emotional, and by choosing to use her as a voicebank a lot of producers forgo the path to easy fame and put a lot of thought into their lyrics, tuning, and instrumentals and gain attention that way instead. She also can go well with any voice bank-- Miku, Lily, Rin, Gakupo, etc.... I just love her. Luka is the best!!!!
